Possibly Changing to Lantus from Prozinc

It seems that Prozinc is not as effective as it once was for my Bubba. Reads are staying in the 200's. I work retail, so my schedule is all over the place... and I'm not able to get a six hour test as often as I'd like. If the vet decides to switch to Lantus, would the transition from Prozinc to Lantus be difficult? Also, in Arizona Lantus is very expensive. Where is the best place to order? Pricing? Thanks

I think you will be pleased using a slow acting depot type of insulin, which Lantus is. The most difficult thing about transitioning from Prozinc to Lantus is taking off your Prozinc hat and wrapping your mind around how Lantus works.

Reading the informational yellow flagged posts at the top of this forum before the transition will make things easier.

Get a spreadsheet set up and enter any data that you have collected on Prozinc. That will allow folks here to best help you.
