My cat was eating and doing well till her BG levels took a big dive a few days ago. Today the BG #'s are higher but still under 200. So far, her appetite still hasn't returned and she's not drinking water so I have been force feeding her canned food and am thinking of giving her unflavored pedalyte. She is lethargic. Is this normal? Will appetite improve as her BG levels go up and stabilize?

Depending how low she went yes I would imagine she probably doesn't feel too good. Under 200 isn't bad, all depends how low you're talking. I may just take her a few days to settle down and feel better after the crash.

She was down to 38 a few days ago.

It could be because she dropped low. Or it could be because her numbers are lower in general. Depending on how high her numbers were on average before she had that 38 reading, it might just be that her appetite has dropped back to normal - unregulated diabetics need a lot more food than regulated because they can't use the food they're eating very well. I'm always surprised by how little our cats here need to eat to maintain a healthy weight.
