Polly's tumour in her mouth continued to grow and affect her ability to eat and drink. For the past month, she struggled to eat a little raw chicken, tuna water and Temptation treats, but lost so much weight. She was no longer my roley, poley Polly. After 2 days of not eating and me syringing in water, it was time to say good-bye to her yesterday afternoon. Although there was blizzard conditions out there on the roads (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) , my wonderful vet: "Dr. Wendy" drove in from Airdre- at least an hour's drive yesterday, to bring peace to Polly at last. Polly has now gone off to the Rainbow Bridge to annoy all her new furry friends.
I miss my little "alarm clock". I miss her noisy presence and our morning insulin routine. Her mate: Tai, who was a feral and mothered Miss Polly, is so sad after being buddies for the past 13 years. Polly brought lots of laughter and joy to our lives with her silly antics. I know my sweet Polly is at peace now and enjoying life at the Rainbow Bridge.
