As some of you know by my recent post, I've had a heck of a time getting Smudge's numbers down. She now seems to have made good progress in the past 2 days, and in fact her PMPS test right now was 9.3. Should I give her usual dose of 1 unit? My vet said any time her number was less than 10, I should only give half the dose. But I'm so worried that will set her on a rollercoaster ride all over again.

Would you recommend 1 unit or 1/2 unit? I need to go out right after I give the shot so i wont be able to test at +2, but I'll be back in time for +3.

This is better asked over in the Lantus ISG group, where there are more ( as in a couple of dozen) experienced members using lantus.

If it was my cat, I'd shoot the 1U, knowing I'd be home to test at +3.
Got test strips?
Medium and higher carb food?
Hypo kit all ready to go?
Can you stay up late if needed, to "feed the curve" if Smudge drops low?

I made a judgement call and gave her a unit. She was 11 at +3. All good. Thank you for your responses.
