First of all, I'm quite thrilled that Joshi's pre-shot numbers are hovering in the 200's lately. However, do the math, her numbers do seem to drop anywhere from 80-120 in those first 2-3 hours after her shot, then dip down a little more gradually until 7-8 hours post-shot where the insulin peak seems to happen. I've already fed her since it wasn't below 200, but I'm thinking I should perhaps give a smaller dose, maybe 2U of Vetsulin (normally she gets 3U). Thoughts?
(Edited to add: I ended up going with the 2U to be safe - after feeding her preshot meal - BG went up to 287, but that wasn't a big enough jump to make me feel comfortable giving a full 3U. I also fed her a few bites of the dry Purina DM as a buffer.)
