My baby is at his regular cattery and refused to eat his dinner. The lady tried for 2 hours.

He can be finicky. Due to his two previous DKA events this year (both while at the cattery) she is concerned that no food = no insulin = ketones. Again.

I am terrified and in tears all evening. Couldn't eat much of my pre-birthday dinner.

Please send confident, relaxing and hungry vines to my baby.

Thank you!

I feel like everything is out of control. He ate nothing all night but she gave him 1 unit anyway. He went down to 60 in the night but then went up to "HI" in the morning and he refused all food again except one of the few cans I had labelled "Emergency higher carb food for hypo" so she gave him that out of desperation.

So now...he won't relax, he's intensely stressed, won't eat except high carb food, and he ne no longer trusts the lady anymore after all the vet stuff last time.

I am TERRIFIED of ketones.

He has to eat so I suggest you let them feed high carb food if that's what works. You don't want to risk another bout of DKA from lack of food and insufficient insulin.
