sugar readings

7/28 -504 vet office
7/31 - 336
8/2 - 335
8/5 - 307
8/9 - 158

Today - 351
I am a little discouraged today. Belle's numbers were consistently going down. Then today her numbers double her last reading. 7/28 was the diagnosis at the doctors office and since then I have been trying to control sugar with just strict diet change. What happen?? Any idea why her sugar went back up from the 158 to the 351. Please help

The last 2 shots were taken at the same time around 12-12:30. And I feed her a small bit of food and test her blood while she's eating that lil food. It's easier for me that way. I have changed her food but just to keep it fresh for her. Alternating between royal canine, blue wilderness and evo. All low carb options. I will add spreadsheet.

Hello,
We're these all taken at the vet? If so the rise in number could be as simple as the stress of going in. I have read that the reading could be as much as 200 points higher from stress. Even if you have done these at home, anything could cause a stress rise. Apparently something as simple as seeing another cat outside a wondow!

It's hard to accept that we don't have ultimate control over the numbers. All we can do is tell the vet everything and do our best to follow their advice and do our part.

My Tigger got into my new kitten's food yesterday. He was loving it and looked at me like "what Mom, it's good." That threw his numbers off. I don't know how I missed closing the door to his room but that's life.

What are you feeding? That could explain it too.

Have you started insulin yet? On your last post you mentioned you were trying the diet change to wet food see how that would work before starting on Prozinc that your vet had suggested. It appears you are using the Relion meter..is that correct?

Sorry but I am reading through your other posts and can't see what type of wet food you changed over to so it is hard to say whether that is low enough carb for your kitty. It would be helpful to set up a signature with information....age and name of kitty, date of DX, type of meter, food fed, insulin (if you are using it) your name if you would like :) etc so that people replying to you don't have to read through all the previous posts to see what the situation is.
