Its been 1 hr past my last test. +12-389 he ate a tiny amount. Now I'm at +13-439. I wasn't able to give him his shot at +12 because he was hiding. I had 2 toddlers in my house running wild & screaming. Which we are not use to.
I usually give him .3. But now he is really high. He has eaten more which I don't know at what point. We are so off schedule
I need to know right now how much should I give him. I know his BG is inflated by food & being scared.

His SS isn't that much updated. I don't think that really comes into play right now anyway.

Please help us.
I will take down the 911 down when I get a response.
Thank you

I was trying to respond quickly, hence the short reply. I'm thinking, even if he stays a little high the next cycle, you can get back on schedule. I, personally, would rather do that and know I'd kept him safe, especially since it's night and you're going to want to sleep...I've heard some people do things like that ;-)

I would shoot whatever you would normally shoot on the 389 reading. That is without food and the "stress boost" will go away on it's own.
Last night, it doesn't look like .3 did much, so if you want to do .4 that's fine too.

Ok thanks Libby. I just need to do it right now. I am already 1.5 behind when I should be already +2 in the cycle. Makes me a little frustrated!

Libby,
We'll have plenty of time to sleep when we get old!
Carl

Thank you Carl I was very tempted to go with .4. Tomorrow I need to shot early both cycles to get us to our Wednesday 7:00am shot.
I have been tempted to go .4 the last couple of times.
My family is leaving tomorrow so in the morning if he is high I would like to give him .4 & do a curve all day tomorrow.

LOL, Libby, I saw you post (I think in Health) about having two in college and being married 20+ years, so I figured "just a little younger than me?". And, me? 53, I ain't old! Hence, you can't be either!

Jenn, I'm thinking like you're thinking about the increase to .4

Carl

I'll be 47 soon...older some days than others. ;-) Doug said this DIY project keeps telling him he's 45! I like your reasoning :-D

Libby/Carl - My DIY projects continually remind me that I'm SOOOOO not twenty anymore! ...and when you have to pull out the readers to do just about EVERYthing, the prospects aren't looking much better!

Jenn - I agree w/ LIbby about the .3 - it's just one of those variables that our guys aren't used to... screaming children? That makes MY blood pressure react, why wouldn't it impact our extra sweet boys? Guess I should've done more baby-sitting as a teenager! I digress... I also think either the .3 or .4 in the morning will be a good choice.

Hey guys, remember Libby posting about saddling up Hershey w/ a harness? I grabbed a small dog harness my mom gave me for Jack (that's way too small for him to EVER have worn), and I tried it on Grayson! No bucking broncos or anything. It helps I did it at meal/shot time, so he was slightly more focussed on the food... but he's still walking around wearing it - hoping I'll take it off soon, I expect! The only resistance was getting that front arm through the one loop. Next time I'll have to put it through first - if that will work! I think he's gonna have to go to Petsmart and get fitted for one of his own! I wonder if he'll be as amenable to trying them on as Jack was... he sat on a pallette of dog food waiting and wagging! I think he likes the brown one, it matches his coat. The purple ones that I chose, were too girly for him...so he chewed THROUGH them! Dear sweet never-misbehaving Jack! Hopefully I'll have the camera ready if he starts to do his bronco demonstration!

Have a good night all - Jenn, you did him well!

Thank you everyone for your help tonight. Also with the .4 dosage in the morning. Tomorrow is day 8 of sticking with .3 & we havent had much movement on it. Something has to happen & I don't thinks its going to be the BG on its own. So I will try .4.

I wasn't here for the dosing discussion, but I'm glad you decided not to increase his dose too much. It seems like in stressful situations like that, they can go up really high but come down really quickly. So I bet he didn't stay in the 400's too long. I got myself in trouble more than once by over compensating for stress related higher numbers. Glad you didn't make that mistake!

Lu - so glad you had success with Grayson and the harness! I keep thinking I'm going to be able to find one to fit Hershey, but it hasn't happened, yet. I'm sure it has nothing to do with me not having wheels most of the time since Doug drives one and Jessica the other. ;-)

Goodnight, y'all!
