Thank you for all the suggestions. Our plan of action is to get BG readings in a.m. before feeding then another one around noontime. We will then attempt to repeat at evening meal, etc. this whole experience has forced us to be more confident in getting correct BG readings. Keep your fingers crossed that he recovers (12:35a.m, still acting strangely) and doesn't fight us again on BG readings. We will have the towel ready to wrap the little burrito in if necessary! :thumbup :RAHCAT

Just stopping by to introduce ourself. I'm Jenn & Baxter is my big brown cat. We use ProZinc. In the beginning I was so lost & overwhelmed with self educating. I don't think I read so much material in such a short amount of time. With time everything got better. It will get better for you & your wife....Promise. Pinky will start feeling better with time too. Just keep posting & let all the angels here help you.

Baxter & I are very active in the ProZinc insulin support board. Please come over there are many experienced members that will help you with dosing, advice & tons of support.

See you in PZI.

I hope Pinky had an uneventful night, and things are more normal this morning.

Carl

Quite the dedication as shown by the daily curve, Jenn and Baxter. Thanks for sharing. These animals sure get under our skin, so to speak. Carl, thanks. Pinky looks good this morning. Feisty and strong, fought me for half an hour trying to get an ear prick. Evidently he vomited or expelled whatever was in his system early this morning as wife said there was still a problem as late as 4:30 am. Thank you Dog and Libby for your kind advice.
I will move to the PZI board as suggested. Thanks again for all who have assisted us. Just to be safe, I dosed with one unit PZI this morning and will adjust accordingly.
Best to all of you and your "fur babies."

Make a certain spot your testing spot. Use low card treats or fresh chicken as treats. And always give lots of praise & love. Before, during & after. Use soft positive words. Kind like if you were training a dog. During this time it would be good for your wife to just help with petting & soothing him. You want to keep a calm atmosphere. Cats can tell when you are stressed or frustrated. So try your best to relaxed & your wife to be relaxed.

You are doing good job.

...Walgreens tru-test meter indicating ...

[bWe have found that meters with "Tru" in the name aren't! Please consider a different meter.

The WalMart ReliOn or the generic version - the Arkray Glucocard 01 from our shopping partner American Diabetes Wholesale (click on shopping link above) - are easy to use, require a tiny bit of blood, and are some of the most cost effective meters available
