The FDA has approved that Semglee is interchangeable with Lantus and the pharmacies can automatically give it as a "generic" to Lantus. This will save everyone some money.
Semglee also comes in pens and it is about 1/3 the cost of Lantus. Walgreens carries it for $177 but if you get their prescription discount card, a pack of pens is $129. Also, you do not need to get the family prescription card for your pet. When I was getting Bandit's insulin, they let me register for only him instead of requiring a family card.
