Ok so I finished the random trial of Petsure strips. I did AT#38, PS#38, and PS#22. I tried to randomize which strip I did first/last, what time of day/night, etc. I only did like a dozen tests though so I may do more . . . the vials only come in 30 so I ran out. Although there were a few with 100 point differences in the beginning, I feel using the PS strip and just leaving it on #38 gave some really good results. Especially if you consider that testing a second time with another AT strip even gives a different reading - sometimes 50 points different! 1st one is control solution.

Really helpful of you to post these test numbers. I'm only 3 weeks into Bandit's diagnosis and already going broke. I did buy the Petsure strips and will try a few comparisons as well! thank you.

So, I only have a few AT strips left. My order for 100 should deliver tomorrow. I've been sprinklg in some tests with PetSure strips and the numbers seem in line with the AT results. My roommate noticed that the AT strips are code 38 and the PS strips are 22. I had been leaving the meter at 38 for both strips. How much of a difference do you think that makes?

Don't know. I leave it on 38 for the insulinx strips.

Overall I felt leaving it on #38 matched better than switching it to #22. Twice AT and PS@22 had a 100 point difference. But leaving it @38 had a difference of only about 50 points (max) on 3 occasions. I will do more trials with Petsure in the future but right now I am loving the InsulinX (since it is literally the same strip as AT).

I'll order some Insulin X today. Having the Petsure strips on hand helped us ensure ir was safe to shoot, but I had some strange results compared with the AT strips.

17???? I just posted something about my obsession with ordering strips on my condo, but all of a sudden I feel better. Ha!
Haha yea I knew it was bad when I was getting packages a couple times a week and my partner was like OK, I think you have enough! But then I’d check and find another cheap one. Ok I’ll back off now so you guys have a chance. Ha ha

Okay. It just got worse. What I thought was my delivery of two packs of 50 AT strips was actually two more AlphaTrak2s! I guess I hit the wrong button when I ordered.

Last night I needed to just do a spot check to make sure Grandpa was in a safe range. I didn't have any AT or InsulinX strips in the room where I was, so I decided to use a Petsure strip. Back-to- back E-3 errors even after one had a large enough sample to make the meter beep. I really don't like those strips.

OMG!!!! Has anyone read this???? I just ordered 4 more boxes//crazy!!!!!

What is the AlphaTRAK®2 Turbo code?
The AlphaTRAK®2 Turbo code, is an alternative coding option that provides blood glucose readings closer to AlphaTRAK® test strip results. It is the recommended option for previous AlphaTRAK® test strip users, who want to produce similar results with the PetSure!® test strips.

Due to differences in manufacturing, PetSure!® test strips tend to produce lower readings on codes 20 and 22 than the AlphaTrak® test strips. Using the AlphaTRAK®2 Turbo code yields a higher reading which will more closely resemble the results of the AlphaTRAK® test strips. While both readings are accurate and fall within the accuracy range of at-home testing equipment, the AlphaTRAK®2 Turbo code option allows for a smooth transition from AlphaTRAK® test strip use to PetSure!® test strips.

(This does not mean that the results from testing with the assigned codes are any less accurate. It simply means that PetSure!® results seem to be negatively biased while AlphaTRAK® results are usually positively biased to the true glucose level.)

The different codes that are needed can be found on the chart on the side of our product box as well as in the informational insert. The codes needed are also described in the chart below:

SpeciesFirst Generation AlphaTRAK® Meter (Gray Meter)AlphaTRAK®2(Purple Meter)AlphaTRAK®2 Turbo Code
Cats Code 7 Code 22 Code 4
Dogs Code 7 Code 20 Code 2

Omg this is like the most beautiful picture I’ve ever seen :D:p I have a shopping problem and yes, even buying strips or other diabetic supplies gives me a “high”. Seeing all your goodies in a box is so exciting!! Hahaha  @Beck and Grandpa i think you also know what I’m taking about :woot:

I decided I want to try out different meters to see which one(s) I like better, so I’ll hopefully be ordering more strips/meters soon (as long as Frosty continues to do well). As I was saying, cost is a problem so I am hoping I will like the ReliOn Prime, but we will see. I was using AT with the actual AT strips for like 6 months. I also wanna try my novamax for glucose as well.:cat::bookworm:

I have it bad! I now have three AT meters (accidentally), three types of strips for the AT meters, a NovaMax Plus with ketone and glucose strips, and a Freestyle Precision Neo. Add in Lantus plus a full vial of Vetsulin and you get the picture. Ironically, Grandpa seems to be self-regulating and hasn't had insulin in a few days.

Yasss!!! I have 8 Lantus pens. 8. It would last us like a year. I really should sell some or give them away LOL. It’s like diabetic supplies hoarding!!!

When I used to be into scrapbooking I did the same thing. I would buy and organize supplies at every opportunity even though I didn't actually use most of them.
I only have this same problem with clothes :arghh:. I have so much stuff I don't even know where to put it. And I donate clothes to the veterans every year, and I still have so much but I wanna buy more. Thankfully, Frosty's vet bills now being almost $1000 a month are keeping me in check.
