So Maahes has been doing pretty well on his Prozinc lately. He's keeping his numbers around 350 and under. There is still some tweaking to do, but overall he's been much better.

The issue lately is that he has a mast cell tumor on his nose that has returned. It's unfortunately too close to his eye for good margins. He has other small tumors scattered around his body that the vet isn't too concerned about. He stated that 90% of mast cells in cats are benign, and since Maahes has some siamese blood, that it is unlikely to be anything malignant. The issue with his eye is that it's a large tumor that has grown pretty quickly. If it grows too much more it could affect his ability to see.

What has been your experience with mast cell tumors? I'm trying to decide whether to risk it and just let it stick around this time, or get it removed. I have a gofundme campaign going to help with expenses, but I'm worried that the surgery will cost a lot more.

I had two cats with repeated mast-cell tumors. However, they were successfully removed. The last on was on my Patches but it was very close to the lower eyelid

The ones on the skin may be locally invasive, although benign. My civvie Tux has had 2 removed from a lower eyelid and 1 removed near the base of the tail.
