Hi,
Six weeks after diagnosis I've got my kitty Kash regulated and doing better at getting his shots (he still has his days when he growls at me). I have been feeding Friskies pates but saw Prefomatrin Grain free canned food options at my local Pet Valu recently and there is no rice, potato, etc listed in the ingredients. Has anyone else tried this food and been successful? Since its in large cans it's actually more economical.

Hi Ash,

I have been feeding my 11 year old cat Precious Performatrin Canned Grain Free varieties for 3 months after she received a diagnosis. Occasionally, usually 1 can/pouch every 2 weeks, I will mix in a different company of grain free cat food because my cats like variety. I will mix part of the other company's food into the Performatrin. I.E. 1/3 of the other company into the Performatrin until the other company's canned food is used up.

Precious is suppose to be on insulin, but due to circumstances I have not been able to get back to vet--long story. Performatrin canned is the bulk of her diet now. I have cut out dry cat kibble. As of today she is energetic, her coat looks better, she drinks less water, she put some weight back on and is less crabby. When my health is better I will be bringing Precious to the vet to get her sugar levels tested and see if her insulin need is reduced. Will update you of the results.
