I will update her ss later we are waiting for a ride to the vet. She hasn't peed more than a dime sized amount since last night and keeps going in the room with the litter box and just sitting there meowing. I let you guys know how she is when I get beack home later.

She has a UTI and the vet gave antibiotic shot and pain pills. She sent home some liquid antibiotics for her to take for the next few weeks. She did say that Patches has gained a pound and looking very good. She told me she was impressed with how much I have learned. The only bad part was she told me I didn't have to test BG everyday but I will ignore that and keep testing.

Do you know what the shot might have been?

Called the poor vet at home on a Sunday cause I didn't get a itemized bill this time. (The bill went to credit care) She said no it wasn't Convenia. It was an antibiotic in the same family as the veraflox antibiotic she starts taking today.

Yeah she cried out a couple of times during the night but had a more normal urine last night. She hasn't cried out a bit this morning but did act like she was going to vomit a tiny bit. She was doing that before the vet visit though so not tied to the shot.

Antibiotics can upset the GI tract. Giving some probiotic a couple of hours after the antibiotic puts good bacteria back in which were killed off by the antibiotic.

Some choices include Intelliflora, Forti Flora, of a couple teaspoons of plain yogurt with active cultures (so long as there is no dairy intolerance).

Also add a tablespoon or so of extra water to the food to help with hydration.

Ok I will go at getting some of those tomorrow when my ride is back again. I always add 1/3 to 1/2 can of water into the wet food. She had problems with hydration in the beginning and now it seems they prefer it that way. Maybe its like gravy to them.

All those yellows are much prettier! I would think the infection was responsible for some of those high numbers. Hope she can settle back down into the one unit dose.
