wow this has been a long week but eventful. We did try upping her dosage but she bounced hard and scared the heck out of my son who is her human. She was acting weird too, exceptionally loveable to us and mean as heck to her brothers. Hissing for no reason at them and not sure how to explain it but she just seemed off somehow. Also when I went to give her shot at the next dose there was a big drop of blood and a bruise where I had given her the shot. With all that he didn't want to stay with the upped dose without talking to her vet. Can't get a ride to the vet till next week so out of respect for him I suspended it till then. The good news is her BG has been great (for her) the last couple of cycles. Do you think that it was just a bounce or was he right and something else was going on? Sorry for not being on here all week but got involved in my school work and in my sons home school work so between those two by 9 pm I just wanted to fall in bed.

I like the two blue nadirs and wonder if maybe there was a lower number before or after them. She is below the renal threshold which is good (generally staying below 250). I am concerned that we don't see any reduction in numbers. She has been at one unit a long time and is still in the same general range.

But I agree the one cycle on 1.25 wasn't great......

Where do you think we should go from there try it again? Would it hurt to keep the night time at 1 unit whatever the reading cause I think that's what worries him the most is when we are asleep. Not sure what to do after that high a bounce ...wasn't sure if that was normal or not. I really want to try to get her lower than where she seems to be stuck at but not sure what to do now.

Some cats need to move more slowly into lower numbers; Patches may be one of them.

Its OK to stick with the 1 unit for a few cycles before changing again. You might try the fattening approach, rather than a 0.25 unit amount. Or if you use U-100 syringes, you can dose in 0.2 unit increments with the conversion chart.

Sure, try either a fat one or 1.25 during the day when you can monitor and the one at night. (A fat one unit is drawing up a little more than one and then letting drops out until you are just above one. You can try it with colored water and then mark the syringe as a model for each shot.)
