257 this morning gave her .75 was tempted to go ahead and giver the whole 1 unit but trying this first to see how she is with the midday number. If its still a good number then 1 unit next time she is close to this number.

I think either one unit or .75 is a good choice. Getting a number midcycle will let you know whether it is fine or you need to go a little higher next time.

Yes, you are definitely getting the hang of this. Doesn't it feel great to know you can figure out a safe dose and feel good about giving it?

LOL yeah 2 weeks ago I would have been terrified of a hypo and been watching her every breath. Now I am relaxed and curious about what the midday number will be. I am so happy I found this board and so thankful for you guys!

We all felt the same way when we first came here. So happy you are more at ease and confident now...Feels Good....Yes?

Keep trying for those mid-cycle tests and keep your ss updated. When you start seeing those blues & greens on it, you will be dancing_cat

We definitely know exactly how you feel/felt! I was terrified every day in the beginning that Simon would hypo, especially since in the early days, he would hit his lowest reading/nadir after only 2 or 3 hours and he would drop from like 300 to 100 in that time! Scary indeed. But, the more data you collect, the more confident you will become in dosing and knowing how your cat will generally react to each dose. That is why home testing and mid-cycle really helps a lot!

Happy New Year and best to you and Patches!

Sorry for the late reply was next door at my Mom's house for New Years. Yeah it feels great can't wait to see those greens and blues as her normal. I agree home testing is a must I don't understand why more vets don't suggest it since the data is so important.
