Leroy has been diagnosed with pancreatitis :( He spent the day at the vet yesterday for a full work up. fPLI level was way off the chart. This on top of the diabetes, IBD, asthma, and early kidney issues  The vet says to not change anything with Leroy's medication routine at this this time. What supportive measures can I give Leroy? I have a copy of an ancient FDMB post about pancreatitis in cats (JoJo's famous CP post) but is the information still good? It mentions liver support by giving milk thistle or denosyl, pancreatitc digestive enzymes, and antioxidants. And low fat food but I already feed raw.

I'm so sorry Leroy is going thru so much as for you as well, As you know the answers you need will be found withing these amazing members along with your vet. Best to the both of you:bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Is Leroy really uncomfortable? Pancreatitis can be incredibly painful. If he's not wanting to be picked up, etc., I'd ask the vet for pain meds (e.g., buprenorphine -- and not gabapentin).

He'll let me pick him up and squeeze his abdomen so he must not be in too much pain. I do have bupe but it's expired  I'll ask the vet if he thinks I should have bupe on hand just in case.

Which is better: denosyl or denamarin? I know denamarin has the added liver support but does Leroy need that? I know my vet will just say he trusts my judgement.

Probiotics - Visibiome or ?? I have used Human probiotics before for Leroy which had no effect. Might be worth starting it again. Again, the vet will just say he trusts my judgement. He's only familiar with Proviable.

Leroy is better post-vet visit. He's still not quite back to his normal self, still kind of meatloafing and being quiet. His appetite is good.

What's the best place to get Visibiome from? Amazon?
That is where U got mine. You can shop around. If I recall manufacturer sells it directly but the price was about the same. One reason for it being expensive it that it ships with a freezer pack via overnight. It even included a temperature indicator inside so you can check it if it was maintained cold during shipment.

The constipation care one is something Leroy could use but it has maltose (sugar). I'll stick with Miralax for his poop issue although right now he has pudding poop so he probably doesn't need Miralax daily:facepalm: If it's not one thing with him, it's another
