Since Monkey's diagnosis of diabetes on July 9, she's had some pretty foul smelling litter box deposits because we switched her right away from a kibble to a low carb wet. Tonight she's having diarrhea (loose foul smelling stools and frequent trips to the litter box) and I suspect adding in some new flavours of fancy feast recently may be the culprit but I'm also not that experienced treating pancreatitis and I'm not sure what I should do?

for food she has:

purina dm (wet)
fancy feast pates: chicken, turkey & giblets, chopped grill, salmon, seafood, ocean whitefish & tuna, and cod, sole & shrimp

treats are freeze dried chicken breast (purebites)

edit: I should add that she has never vomited or had diarrhea before as symptoms of her pancreatitis

A change of food can be challenging for many cats. We treat our cats with probiotics like Proviable when issues occur. That helps their gut bacteria get back in sync. Our cats are primarily on Fancy Feast pates too, the same varieties you listed.

A quick change of food from dry to all canned could certainly be the culprit. My cat's bm's got quite a bit looser after switching- which I did too fast. I had to add some fiber to the grain free canned food.

Pancreatitis can be chronic or acute. I think over the years Max might have had a couple more serious bouts. Metronidazole works well short term for diarrhea and can help with inflammation.
