Today is Ozzie's 14th day with no insulin!

SO.....is he officially OTJ?

A few questions....

How often should I be testing going forward?

Why are morning numbers always higher? He seems to have higher readings in the AM.

Does he need to go for any more vet checks? If so, how often?

Any other advice for managing him now that he is OTJ would be appreciated.

I think Ozzie is officially OTJ! Party time! party_cat party_cat party_cat

Please add your story to the remission thread at the top of the page.

I tested once a day for a couple more weeks, then once every couple of days, then once a month, then once in a while or any time i thought his behavior was a little strange. (Maybe too much, I am a worrywart.....)

Movement, exercise can lower numbers as can food. If he is quieter at night, that may be the reason.

We didn't take Oliver back until he needed shots and then when he got sick. Have you sent your ss to the vet so he can celebrate with you (hopefully)

Once a diabetic, always a diabetic. Never a dry snack or any dry food. Sometimes just a little has been enough to throw a kitty back into diabetic numbers. Keep feeding the low carb forever!

Congratulations Mom. Great job!
