Hi everyone. Ozy just passed his nine months anniversary since his diabetes diagnosis. In December he tested at 68% for IAA and a 92 for IGF-1. He is classified as high normal for acro and high for IAA. We are currently at 7 units of Levemir with fairly good BG control. He has been as high as 9.5 units.

He can go low unexpectedly, which I guess is how it is for IAA. I test a lot. The Levemir also is much flatter for Ozy than Lantus was, plus the Lantus stung so much when he got to six units.

He is doing so much better than he was 9 months ago when his health was pretty bad. His neuropathy is gone. He is more engaged and active and I think feels better than he has in a few years.

He has been much easier to bring down than Black Kitty, who was classified as extreme at 88% and I thought that was because Ozy's IAA is classified as high classification while BK is extreme. But I've a few other SS's for IAA only cats and I am not so sure now. Pattie's Harley was 66% for IAA and he was much harder to bring down. And a cat named Emma was 88% (extreme) and seems to have been about like Ozy to bring down. So what do I know...

It is so nice to hear that you have done so well with Ozy and that he is progressing so nicely.

Great job!

How wonderful to hear Ozy is doing better and you are able to keep his BG fairly regulated.

I agree with Julie - you are doing a fantastic job with Ozy. His SS is a thing of beauty, he is quite well regulated. :-D Neko was 52 for IAA and is a lot more bouncy. Course she also has the acro thing going but I think it's the IAA that causes her "springiness".

I also love that whole cat report - it's great to hear when they are feeling better and interacting more with everyone.

it's true! :-D

i am especially fond of seeing high dose cats doing well. we celebrate everyone, of course, but the HD cats have a special spot in my little heart, as you know. They have a lot to deal with and work extra hard to get regulated - their beans too.

Thanks Julie and Carla and Wendy and Mariko and Lovey11. I appreciate hearing from you. Thanks for all your support. A special hi to Marje.
