Hi all,
My cat, Chloe has been on insulin (Lantis 1 unit 1 x per day) for about a month and seems to be doing well. My husband and I have to go out of town for 1, perhaps 2 nights during the summer. What will happen if she misses her dose for those 2 days? We have no one else to give her the shot.

If you're not going until the summer, maybe you can hire a petsitter to come to your home and give the shots?

There are lots of petsitting services now and you can meet the people before you hire them and make sure they're a "good fit"

Also, a lot of people will call around to vets offices and see if there's a vet tech that would like to earn a few bucks by coming by and giving the shots

That's a good idea...the vet techs at the office are really nice! I'll see if one could come.

I have an animal lover as a coworker. She comes in and feeds, waters, cleans up the cat box, and when they were on insulin she'd come in and give it (that was before I was home testing) of course I pay her close to the same amount I would boarding at the vets. I feel it's worth paying her $20 a day.
