I wanted to drop a note to thank all of you on this board. Toonces has been in remission now for 2+ months after only 2 months of treatment with Lantus. He has been acting like a kitten again! I could have never managed this without the help of all of you and hopefully it will be an encouragement to those starting treatment! Fingers crossed he stays in remission! (Unfortunately his sister was diagnosed with intestinal cancer last month but seeing how Toonces fought Diabetes and turned around has really given me optimism in fighting this with her - and so far she’s making huge improvements with her chemo). Thanks again from me and Toonces to all of you here!
 
I don't think we ever visited with you and Toonces , but it's always great to hear of the successes of all of our FD kitties. Thanks for the update.

Wow, I don't think I ever visited one of your threads before. Congrats on the recent remission and the brevity of the treatment. Once a diabetic always a diabetic so continue with low carb wet food and get a test in a least once a month ( I could never go more than once a week ) Make sure dental cleanings are done periodically as inflammation and or a bad tooth is a common thing to take a kitty out of remission.
