Gatos numbers have been holding well off insulin and I'm wondering if another could benefit from some excess syringes (we would still keep some just in case) and nearly full vial of prozinc. Before I go through the trouble of locating someone in my area who could use these things, I want to make sure I'm not jumping the gun. How long after being officially in remission should I wait before considering this? His last shot was on 5/12 and we've been cruising in greens ever since.

I don't know the answer to that one, but I'm curious to know also! So good to hear that Gato is still in the green! Jack presents some occasional blues (even above 120) at pre meal testing once in a while, but he goes down quickly and easily after he eats. I think he just wants to keep me on my toes.

I thought I told Jack to BEHAVE! Lol. Glad to hear he's also doing well. ❤ I think a pre meal slight elevation is reasonable as long as his nadir is looking swell. Everyone has a different metabolism!

You said a 'nearly full vial of ProZinc', so it is obviously an open vial. As soon as you opened it, the clock started ticking. If you opened it in mid March, you are already running out of time on it. If you want to donate it, do it VERY soon so that someone can get a bit of use out of it before it is no good.

How long does an opened, refrigerated bottle of prozinc remain usable?

That's kind of what I figured, I know that I'm on the very tail end of it's efficacy period, but wanted to be sure that I'm in the clear. I'll see if I can find anyone in central OH this week so that at least someone could potentially get more use out of it than we currently are.
