The way DH went and got her is the stuff that you only read about and never expect to be true. Angel could not have found a better family and now that she is OTJ, it only gets better from here. Concatulations Angel!!!! Job Well Done Michelle and Brian...!!!! I just love it when a family comes together... Way to go Doodle!!!!!

Almost four years ago, due to Charlie being diabetic, I first spoke on line, to a lovely woman who loved cats. Her name was Cheryl, and she worked at the Humane Society. Someone had just turned in a three year old handsome long haired black and white cat, that Cheryl had falled in love with as a kitten. He was she said "The perfect Cat" sadly she added (If it weren't for the diabetes) We here on FDMB knew he was simply a perfect cat.

Not as long a drive as Brian had, but a couple hours both ways..... Cheryl had started him on low carb FF, and we went down on a Friday night to pick him up..... and brought him home. Charlie like him, but Spunky was very upset. It took a bit of help, but they would all be together within a few days, and within 10 days our boy was off the juice also. Now Spunky and Stevie cuddle and groom, play and sleep with each other - if they can't get our attention. Stevie's favorite spot...... cuddled next to Tom's tummy....

I know that Angel will have your hearts forever in her grasp, as this beautiful girl has a piece of mine just looking at her pictures.. True Love... There used to be a song about that...

My girl is OTJ!! YAY!!

My experience with Angel has (at least so far) been the polar opposite of my experience with Doodle.
Doodle was difficult. The 3 and a half years we fought FD, I think put ten years on me...but of course I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.
Angel, on the other hand, has almost done this with no help at all.
She's such a wonderful and affectionate cat! I really wish you all could meet her. (though I think she'd run and hide) ;)

She's very talkative... and today she has been chatting me up about wanting to go out the patio and eat grass. She also politely informed me, by flickiing the blood off her ear, right onto my chin, that she didn't want to be tested. This is the first time she's resisted... so I will take that as confirmation that she indeed does not need any more shots and stop loading a syringe in the morning just in case. :roll: :oops: :roll:

I promised her that tomorrow would be test free. :)
And for those of you with inquiring minds - today's chin blood tested at a contaminated 89 ;-)
 
I remember quite well reading about you losing your Doodle, asking for an angel, and there she was...and the wonderful husband who, without questioning, went and picked her up for you 15 hours away!!! Congratulations on this wonderful day!!!! It couldn't have happened to a nicer family!!!
 
Congratulations, Michelle and Angel!!! And also to DH and Doodle, who made it all possible.

The true miracle of this story is in Angel finding her way to you. To have her also go OTJ is a wonderful surprise ending to the fairy story. This makes me belive in fate, in miracles, and whatever else could possibly take a suffering cat from Michigan into the arms of a family in Florida who loved her back to health.

You did good, Doodle.

Happy tears from me. Your Doodle will always be in our hearts and many of us were such a part of that journey.
When I saw your Angel posted by DCIN that a home was found for her, I just had the strangest feeling that she found you, Brian, and your precious Brielle.

I was so thrilled for all of you, that your heart was allowing you to save another beautiful white kitty.
Brian had many passengers in his car when he drove to pick her up.

Congratulations to all of you and Max welcomes your beautiful Angel to the Falls.

I think this is the most special OTJ party for me EVER (except Lucy's, of course). We see so many here who come in and go OTJ quickly that it seems almost commonplace. In this case, though, this is a party for Angel, and it's a party for YOU and for Doodle and for all the amazing things that have happened in the past few years. It's all part of the same story and it's a bit overwhelming. Overwhelming in a happy way, of course! Nobody deserves this more than you do.

OMG!!!!! Wow! I decided to check Lantus today to see what's going on and I saw this and thought...hmm...who is Angel? Then when I opened it and saw it was YOUR new cat I COULDN'T believe it!!!! I always thought your story was amazing....but this is the icing on the cake. Huge hug and and I am SO very happy for you guys. Great job. And she is absolutely stunning.
