Maybe once a week to once a month.
You might also keep a daily log of the 5 Ps, so that if something changes, you notice it faster
Purring/contentment
Preening/grooming
Playing/normal activity levels
Peeing - half-cup blobs, not lakes, not deserts
Pooping - formed, neither too hard, nor too soft
Also
water consumption
food consumption
breath test - no smell of nail polish remover, nor a urinous smell (possible sign of renal disease), nor rank (possible infection; check teeth)

Mocha has been OTJ for almost two years now and I still test maybe twice a month .. just for peace of mind

I guess I'm still too nervous about losing remission ..as I am testing still at least once or twice a week...
but then Shadow's normal numbers are right near the cut off ..she sees to like 110....
And I figure her numbers will tell me best when I need to think about a dental again...
