Hi to all..........
Today is Davidson's ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY for being OTJ since his DX of Diabetes Jan 17/15, and he started insulin Apr 15/14.
I've been testing every 2-3 weeks for the past few months, decreasing from the twice weekly and weekly schedule and now feel comfortable testing monthly. I know his patterns from being very careful during his shooting days, and I keep him on a strict Fancy Feast low carb only feeding schedule.
Davidson's tests results have always been averaging between 60-90 for the past few months, consistent for the past year and only had 3 readings between 100-103 when someone was here, or I was leaving for a trip and he knew it. Otherwise - he's been great!@!@
I can only say to all of you that following the Protocol WORKS! Yes, it's a lot of work and testing at all hours and very stressful. But in the end you all have a chance that your cat may go OTJ and stay that way.
I really have been grateful to ALL the help from so many people on this board and forum. They are the backbone to Davidson's remission and so many other lucky cats. In return I know I too have helped others,, educated my Vet so that he can advise clients of where to turn, and most of all provided Davidson the love and care while he was sick.
DAVIDSON is very healthy, full of energy and shows no negative effects of having diabetes.
HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY DAVIDSON AND ALL OTHERS OTJ AND IN REMISSION!!!!!!!
Thanks again, and Harley & Davidson and myself wish you all the best and know that we still lurk in the background and watch all of you.........not sure where Davidson's chart went or I would have updated it.
All the best,
Shawna
