Other parts of body to give shot?

i have been giving tripp his shots on neck above shoulders . Today he really reacted in that area when I went to give shot. I have only been doing this a week but the shots have been no problem until this morning. I know I'm doing it right. Is there another spot on him I can give shot? Maybe alternate.

Also, he is on purina DM canned. Does anybody know the carb % on this? I have looked at the lists people have posted but I don't see this one listed. I would like to transition him to something else because his numbers won't go below 291 and go up to high 400's. And he has been increased to 2 units twice a day.

I realize you have likely found your answers, however, I just wanted to point you to this link written by wonderful @Marje and Gracie on Testing Tips.
When I was starting out, I am embarassed to say, I did not know about the proper angle of the syringe, nor the proper way to face the bevel- it made giving the shots sooooo much easier and painless- after I read the tutorial. Yes, this is a truly wonderful forum!
