Good afternoon!
I hope everyone is staying safe and staying well!
This has been a productive week....well for photography but not much else lol.

Some of you might remember my quest to photograph a Common Loon last year....how one landed in our local pond but it was always out in the middle every time I went there! Then one day I was more determined to get a shot than it was to evade me and I drove from one side of the pond to the other 4 times (with a trip home as well to test Boomer) and then finally got my shot! Well, 4 days ago a friend sends me a message.....there is a Loon at The Coves (another spot I frequent). Well...I had to be patient as DH was just expecting a call from his oncologist (everything is good) luckily the call came only a minute later then I went out the door! Yes, I got shots of the Loon and it was an adult this time (last year's was a juvenile). It was raining a bit but I didn't care. And the part of the coves it was in....well it was reasonably close. That Loon disappeared and one appeared at the pond I normally go to (possibly the same Loon) so I was able to get additional photos! Hoping for more still if it decides to stick around for a few days!

This week's photos.....a Coyote, a male Wood Duck, a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet, a male Osprey, a Fox Sparrow (in my backyard), a Common Loon, a Gosling, and today's shot...a male Wild Turkey!

As always, thanks for looking!!!

Hi Judy, great new on DH! Love the baby picture. So cute. Those Wood ducks are so beautiful. Great job on catching the loon! We were out ocean kayaking on Friday and saw a few loons in the water. I miss the smell of the ocean and the wildlife. You think I'd never seen a heron before. Instead of just my first time on the water since mid March.

Thanks Wendy! I think I'd go crazy if I couldn't get out. And there are some that don't think I should be going out....but I keep very safe.

Hi Judy, What great photos! I'm so happy that you finally got to photograph a loon. We were out on Follensby Clear Pond on Sunday and saw 3 pairs of loons, very close to our canoes. Later, from down the lake, we heard a fantastic symphony of the 6 loons calling in concert. I hadn't heard that in years, when we used to camp on Stillwater Reservoir in September, when loons congregated there.
Glad your DH is doing well. Stay safe from the virus, both of you!

@Wendy&Neko : great that you got out on the water. Isn't it wonderful to be back?

Thanks Ella! I did photograph the juvenile last year but was happy to see the adult this year!

WOW! That loon is gorgeous! I used to hear them up north when we'd go vacation up there - I don't really recall that I knew exactly what that bird looked like....but we could hear them out on the lake...very cool sounding birds.

Gorgeous pictures!!!

I do so enjoy your photos - thank you so much for sharing them! A bit of beauty in our otherwise (tech) world..at least for me it's a restful respite for these old eyes from staring at code all day...not very beautiful :bighug::bighug:

Thank you Sue!

Beautiful photographs, Judy.
We had a brown thrasher in the backyard yesterday, tossing last year's leaves right, left, and centre. A hoot to watch and a first for our backyard.
