Good morning!

Our province is slowly opening up here....I still can't get my hair cut or go out to eat lol but the provincial parks and conservation areas are open which makes me very happy!

Spring migration continues and yesterday I checked out a couple of different locations which had a few different birds than the ones I've seen at my usual spots. Today it's rainy and windy so it's indoor-chore day and I'll get some more images ready for posting.

I have two pair of Baltimore Orioles coming to my feeder for grape jelly and to enjoy an orange; the Gray Catbirds also like the jelly! I have at least 3 male Goldfinches coming (one I believe is a juvenile) and one female (probably a second one around but I haven't seen both together to know for sure). My two White-Crowned Sparrows continue to enjoy my backyard, along with a White-Throated Sparrow. The Grackles and Starlings were driving me crazy eating all the suet and forcing me to change it twice a day....I tried an experiment and instead of it hanging vertically I hung it horizontally and placed a piece of plastic on the top of the suet cake....I have seen a Starling on it but it's quite difficult for them to hang onto the bottom of the feeder so it left quickly. The Downy Woodpeckers access it easily. I haven't seen any Chickadees or Nuthatches around lately; hopefully they will be able to access it as well when they visit again.

This week's photos....a Blackburnian Warbler, a Carolina Wren, a Black & White Warbler, a male Wood Duck, a Spotted Sandpiper, a male Scarlet Tanager (my highlight of the week!), a Blue-Grey Gnatcatcher, a male Rose-Breasted Grosbeak, and a Northern Parula!

Thank you for looking!

Beautiful! I've never seen a Blackburnian Warbler! Your pics make me miss being at home in Michigan...we usually see many of those birds there and have an orange half filled with grape jelly for those birdies...they usually love it.

I'm told today that it's pouring rain there...again...and with the lockdown continuing...oh well...guess we won't be going to see the birds this week...or next...who knows :(

Thanks for sharing!

Great pics of neat birds. I wish we had the great assortment of birds that you have! But a Hummingbird was on my feeder yesterday. He didn't return, so I suspect he was still on his migration and by now is in Ontario or Quebec.

I finally broke down and bought a hair clipper. My first attempt doesn't look too bad (and is an improvement on the "rat's nest").

Have a great week, Judy.

Thanks Ella! And I just saw my first hummingbird today and it stopped by my feeder!

I think I saw there was some bad flooding in Michigan? Hope it wasn't near your other home!
