Good morning!
My apologies for the lack of visits this weekend; it was a very busy one with 2 birthday parties happening as well as last minute travel plans. And now unfortunately we've decided to cancel our trip to Mexico....there's just too much of a risk that we may have trouble getting back home and we also found out that our health benefits will not cover us in Mexico if one of us should actually catch the Coronavirus. I just don't have any luck with Mexico vacations!

This weeks photos.....well the Red-Winged Blackbirds are back so of course I have to include one of them! We took a road trip to a Provincal Park on Lake Huron last week and I was finally able to photograph a Tufted Titmouse (2 photos attached). The photo of the Hairy Woodpecker was also taken there although we do have them here in London and I actually have one visiting my backyard feeder daily. The Starlings are back and seem to have young ones with them so one of the photos is of the juvenile yelling at its mom. And finally....my first sighting of Wood Ducks this year when a few flew over Saunders Pond this morning!

As always, I appreciate your interest in my photography!!!!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Congrats on snapping the titmouse! I'm with Carla and Joy (and you) better safe than sorry, the government is encouraging Canadians abroad to return as soon as possible on top of that, in case border policy changes in the future and you end up unable to return... not that being stuck in Mexico would be the worst thing ;)

Love the Photos! Thank you :D
My favorite is " Yelling for MOM "
Too bad you had to cancel your vacation but now days it's probably better to stick close to home! It's nice you have your photography to occupy your time and we all appreciate that you provide us all with your wonderful Photos!!

Thanks so much JoyBee!

Love your photos. I like the wood duck one.

Bummer on vacation. Is there a place closer to home for a mini vaca?
Thanks Paula! We can actually get credit from both airlines and from VRBO for the condo....the credit for the condo shocked me! So we'll try to make it to Mexico later in the year although having been caught in hurricane Wilma many years ago we don't usually travel south in the fall lol

Thanks Amanda! Yes there are worse things than being stuck in Mexico!

Hi Judy, Great photos, as always. I heard a Redwing Blackbird here yesterday, and today there was a Song Sparrow under my feeders, so I guess spring is coming to the Adirondacks. We still have about a foot of snow on the ground, but the melt is progressing. We just got back from a week in NYC (dentist, doctor, tax advisor, and an emergency trip to a vet for Gus, who is OK now). Needless to say we took all precautions. Since then everything is shut down in New York State. We are "self-isolating" for the next week or so because we don't want to expose friends to anything we may have picked up (so far we are fine).

Too bad about your vacation in Mexico. But it's good that you hadn't left yet! Getting back home is a huge problem here, as I imagine it is in Canada, too. Everything is closed. Even Mt. Everist is closed to climbers!

Stay healthy! Watch birds!

What's going on with Gus?
We too are self-isolating...it's what's being recommended. All of our restaurants, a lot of stores, our theatre, even our government buildings have shut down. That being said, I'm so glad I have a hobby that I can still do and even though I do run into other photographers frequently we all know to keep 2 meters apart.

Well I'm really happy that DH came to his senses and we cancelled our trip. The US closed their borders to Canadians on Wednesday so we may have been in the air already and not able to land (had a stop in the US on the way to Mexico, same coming back).

And I woke up sick on Wednesday.....sore throat and cough :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: DH thinks it's a cold because he has had a cold but I'm not sneezing nor do I have a runny nose. So idk right now I'm playing a wait and see game. Up until today I still went out every morning but stayed away from everyone. Well everyone except one photographer friend who kept getting too close. Trouble is....her son works on cruise ships.....he just got back from one (I don't know when) and when I sent her a msg this morning asking if he was self-isolating at her house, she didn't answer me. So I suspect he is (or should be) and she should be too and not only isn't self-isolating but she's getting far too close to people when out. So if you have any vines to spare, please send them my way!

Hope you feel better soon. I'm eating vitamin C all day & drinking a lot of Ginger Tea! I figure it can't hurt!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Lots of vines heading your way, Judy! It sounds like your photographer friend needs to self-isolate.
I hope it's just a cold, or even "just" the flu! Drink lots of water. Take your temperature often. From what I read, a sore throat is not an early symptom of Covid-19. The early symptoms are a temperature of 101 degrees (F.) and a dry cough.

Hang in there!

Tons of vines going your way Judy. :bighug: I think all of us are suspicious of every last cough these days. Maybe some more interesting birds will make a guest appearance in your back yard for you to photograph. I had a chickadee at my hummingbird feeder today! Should be seeing the rufous hummers any day now.

I am glad you didn't go to Mexico. My BIL overwinters there are they are delaying a return due to a medical appointment. Thankfully they are driving. On the up side, they haven't had a run on anything like hand sanitizer. I told him to stock up.

Oh Judy I hope it’s a simple cold. Sending many vines. I’m glad you didn’t go to Mexico too.

The photos are beautiful thanks for posting. I wish you could photograph the birds in my garden. I have kookaburras, magpies, lorikeets, Australian minors, butcher birds, honeyeaters, parrots, cockatoos, rosellas, doves, pigeons and galahs that visit my garden every day. They are a joy to watch.
Take care!

Oh Judy! I saw the photos and was so happy to see them...then read further down your condo..oh no! I hope it's only a cold....and I hope in case you start feeling worse that your doctor will order a test for you. If you start running a fever please do get in touch with your doctor's office.

I'm sorry about your trip to Mexico...

But most of all I hope for your good health and sending you tons of vines and prayers. Please keep us posted!

Thanks everyone :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
I "think" I might be feeling a wee bit better although it could just be the tylenol every 4 hours lol
Dr Google indicates that sometimes covid 19 starts with a sore throat and cough and that had me worried! But it doesn't seem to be getting any worse and thankfully no breathing problems. I am feeling a bit weak and of course DH picks this time to be productive but needs my help:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I’m glad you canceled your trip too. I’m sure it’s very disappointing, but for the best. Vines your cold is just a cold and you’re over it soon!
My favorite pic is the Red Wing Blackbird. I’ve never seen one.

Hi Judy! Great photos!

I love the call of the titmouse. My one Siamese , Josie had a titmouse stuffed animal that made the call when it was squeezed. She walked around with the bird in her mouse often! She finally chews the bird to pieces.

Hope all you have is a cold or allergies. During this high alert time, every hangnail is going to unnerve us.

Sending vines!

Thanks Bobbie. Yes it scared me for the first couple of days!

Thanks Jill! We look forward to seeing the Red Winged Blackbird....one of the first birds to return in the spring.....but they're so darn noisy it doesn't take long to tire of them lol.

Judy, I hope you're feeling better today. :bighug:
Thanks Sonia. Sometimes I am lol. Considered going out birding this morning but it's very cold here and didn't have the energy to put on 2 layers of clothes, coat, boots, gloves, hat, etc etc I figured I'd be exhausted before I got out the door  It sure has zapped my energy!

Oh cute...a bell. I text DH when I'm in bed...ha...he'd better come a runnin'...just sayin.. :)

Hope you're feeling better...I take it from your posts that at least you're not feeling worse..which is a good sign that it's just a common cold or maybe allergies...hang in there Miss Judy!

In that case, why don't you wrap yourself up nice and cozy and make it a movie day!! Do you have a little bell in case your DH is in another room and you need something?
Oh believe me, most of what I've been doing is watching tv!
Hopefully I can get out tomorrow; it's supposed to be sunny and not as cold as today.
