OT - Squishy Merlin has news

Squishy Merlin made the bean adopt a civie yesterday to keep Leroy the crazy Aby kitten company :shock:

I had talked to a rescue and just went to look and ended up going home with a female black and white kitten :shock: She's a little older than Leroy, maybe 6-8 months, and supposedly really active. I posted more details on the "other place" and a little bit in Community here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34529

I hope Leroy and Toaster Strudel will get along nailbite_smile So far they're not fighing, just some hissing from Toaster Strudel. Leroy just wants to play bcatrun_gif

She came with the name Toaster Strudel. I guess her former family had kids who gave that name.

Toaster Strudel is slowly tolerating Leroy. When she gets annoyed she will hiss and swipe. Leroy just follows her around talking. They did bat at each other a few times but nothing happened with that.

Toaster Strudel has decided that canned food is ok :thumbup She ate the NV Instinct I left for her today and again when I gave her dinner. I bought a few other brands to try as well.
 
Toaster Strudel is a lucky girl. Sounds like she is taking charge of the household already! :-D

TWO very active kitties. This should be interesting.
 
Toaster Strudel did not enjoy being locked in the bathroom last night cat(2)_steam She meowed, fortunately very softly unlike Leroy's ear piercing screams when he was in there :shock: , and scratched at the door (Leroy never did that). Leroy got off the bed a few times to investigate.

I had to feed both separately this morning. While Leroy ate one raw nugget, I slipped into the bathroom with a bowl of canned for Toaster Strudel. When she was done (she doesn't seem to miss evil dry crunchies :thumbup ), I let her out and Leroy zoomed in , looking for canned food I guess :razz: I let them play or whatever it is they do while I washed up. Then I had to put Leroy in the bathroom with his second raw nugget because he was more interested in following Toaster Strudel around than finishing his food :roll: I had to bribe him with some freeze dried raw on top of the raw nugget so he would eat.

Once both were fed, they were chasing each other around bcatrun_gif Toaster Strudel initiated the chase a few times :smile: The boxed each other and even touched noses at one point :smile: Then Toaster Strudel discovered toys and played with a mousie :smile: She does this weird thing where she half lies down on a toy and kicks at it with a back leg before flipping around and batting the toy. I think Toaster Strudel is settling in just fine :thumbup
 
everything sounds very promising! Better be careful, that name is starting to stick. ;-) I get the impression she is going to have to whack Leroy on the head a few times to get him to back off occasionally, but it sounds like she can handle him just fine.

I hope so :smile: I think by the end of the week I won't have to keep Toaster Strudel in the bathroom when I'm not around.

I was thinking she's more of an Emma than a Toaster Strudel. We'll see :smile:

She's already whacked Leroy several times :lol: Leroy just scampers off doing his mrrrrppp meow and he comes right back.

They exhausted each other out with their zoomies :lol: Toaster Strudel is active but can't match Leroy. He is an Aby after all bcatrun_gif I posted more on the other place.
 
Memo to me: Keep Toaster Strudel out of the bedroom at night :shock: All she and Leroy did was chase each other around bcatrun_gif Then when things seemed to be settling down and Leroy's on the bed starting to doze off, Toaster Strudel would do something to get Leroy's attention and of course he has to go chase after her :shock: And Toaster Strudel found her way on top of Scooter the gerbil's tank :shock: I had to keep moving her off. I did eventually put Toaster Strudel out in the living room and closed the bedroom door with Leroy on the bed with me but we still didn't get much sleep :?
