Today is National Pancake Day!
IHop is serving free pancakes today.

In honor of this fun day. Let's get to know a fun fact about each other.
So I ask...
How do you like your pancakes?

I will start off...
I like to eat only 2 pancakes, original not buttermilk. I like the edges kind of crispy, not burnt. I like fresh fruit on top preferably strawberries. I love butter pecan syrup & I prefer one brand called Griffins. It's made in Okla. I have a stash in my pantry because I cant find it in south Texas. I usually don't put butter on my pancakes.
How about you?

I prefer waffles but that requires pulling out the iron and all that with a lot of cleanup afterwards :sad: .

So- pancakes- light and fluffy- which I canNOT make (mind sit like lead ballons and need a lot of syrup to help them down) a little bit of whip topping with strawberries.
 
Light and fluffy is good with blueberries or strawberries mixed in the batter. I like to make my own syrup - I heat regular syrup up with fruit jelly.
 
My favorite is a Blueberry Pancake served at this little hole in the wall restaurant called Fat Nats.

It's made with real blueberries and is as big as the plate, you only need one, topped with butter and their maple vanilla syrup.

I'm a boring bagel girl, but as a kid we used to get Swedish pancakes every Sunday at the Swedish Glee Club in Waukegan, IL, north of Chicago. They were rolled up w/ Lingonberry jam. Yum!

Not too many Swedes in NC that I've met... so unless I'm w/ family friends up north... I stick w/ the bagels!
 
They MUST be chocolate chip pancakes!!
would love to have some now...but I will go have my salad instead
and dream of pancakes

Hmm...maybe this why I got pancakes when I ordered french toast for dinner. I prefer french toast, but I like strawberries or lots of butter & syrup on my pancakes.
 
Doug is the pancake chef at our house. He fixes one batch of chocolate chip and one batch of fruit - usually blueberry, sometimes peach or banana (blech!) if my mom is coming over. No butter on mine and Jessica's, just syrup - and we have bacon or sausage with it! YUM! Too bad it's a little after midnight and too late for pancakes ;-)
