National Campaign To End Animal Gas Chambers
Posted: 17 Feb 2012 02:40 AM PST
This page is dedicated to the stray animals who are gassed daily in gas chambers located throughout the United States. This page does not recognize one group, or one organization, or one rescue or even one person. This campaign is a national campaign that will end all operations of the animal gas chambers by year end of 2014. The campaign is broken down into 2 phases.

The 1st phase will end gassing in 9 states by January, 2013. This is a citizen ballot initiative process that will take place in Massachusetts, Michigan, Oklahoma, Utah, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, North and South Dakota. A citizen ballot initiative is a process inwhich the regsitered voters of named state speak out and demand change with the current state legislative laws by way of a state approved citizen ballot voting petition. In other words, each registered vote is counted as each registered voter signs the citizen ballot petition packet. This is a way for the citizens of these states to abide by the rules, collect the necessary signatures and create a law by the people, for the people and for animal gas chambers to cease all operations. Citizen Ballots are filed with each of these states in accordance with each state legislation. It's now time to organize together, go door to door for registered voters signatures in order to 100% guarantee the ban of animal gas chambers as law in these states. Each state has guidelines, time limits and certain requirements to meet. BUT, with the success of following the rules for each state and collecting the correct amount of registered voter's signatures, the law will be final and gassing will end.

After the completion of phase 1, phase 2 will end gassing on a federal level in the US Congress. After the success of phase 1 and the addition of 9 states to the non-gassing states in 2013, much attention will be brought to the animal gas chambers on a national level thanks to every animal advocate involved. At this time a new federal bill will be presented to request the separation of domesticated animals from farm animals, release the USDA from any future obligations to the domesticated animal and create a new federal animal welfare program which will create new sanctions on state operated animal shelters which house our stray animals. At this time, other issues such as spay/neuter, breeders, rescues, animal shelter reporting, no kill programs and much more can and will be addressed on a federal level versus a state, county and city level which has proven to be slow going due to each level's processes and procedures. Power comes with success and with the success of phase 1, the animals will be heard and federal reform will be acknowledged.

This national campaign will not have a name, just like the many stray animals who face the gas chambers everyday, they too are not named. The national campaign is not part of one group. It represents no human being. It stands for the animals who have been patiently waiting for a miracle to save them. Many of you have tried statewide petitions, lobbying at state capital steps, submitted new state laws and some have passed and others have failed. This process is a voice of the American people with states that still recognize the citizen ballot initiative process for creating new state laws. Therefore, this national campaign, with the help of dedicated animal advocates will create new laws against the gas chambers and move forward to changing history forever with domesticated animals.

Millions of animals are tortured to death everyday in the animal gas chambers and it will take millions to stand together, work together, fight together, speak together and stay the course together to see this all through. BUT, know in your hearts as you read this, know in your minds as you absorb all of this, this country was founded on the belief that the democracy will prevail and rule. The democracy is comprised of people, their voices and the right to request change. This process can only fail if animal advocates fail to unite with one another. The animals have this chance today for you all to stand together for their future happiness and well-being. You are their hope for a brighter tomorrow.

All types of positions need to be filled. For a list of these by state, please check the notes section and the page. Be a part of history and let's unite together and end the animal gas chambers. Let the future generations know that this generation made a difference for the nation's stray animals.

The need is NOW, the animals are being thrown in the gas chambers and are tortured to death because society has failed to reform animal welfare. Don't let the animals pay for the mistakes of others, join hands with your fellow advocate and look forward to tomorrow together. This process can only fail if everyone fails to unite with one another. The animals have this chance today for you all to stand together for their future happiness and well-being. You are their hope for a brighter tomorrow.
