OT Just updates on skittles

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to post to tell everyone Hi :cat:
Skittles is doing good, still :otj: and no longer walking on his hocks! Only took maybe 2 weeks ( if that long) once I started him on the meds for his legs for it to work. He is still trying hard to get to kona's food, he even jumped from my bed to the top of my book case to get to the food. Now I keep the food on the shelf in my closet! Poor dog, can't eat whenever he wants anymore. I've even forgot to get the food down for him the whole day.
I will be making a appointment to get skittles a dental very soon, hoping by the end of the week. I am very nervous about getting it done but my gosh does he need it, his breath is sooo bad! I am still looking for work, but have gotten some money together for him. I actually need dental care myself, about to lose a tooth if I don't get it fixed but I'm going to use the money I have for my fur baby.
I am so happy that skittles is in remission but that would NOT have happened without the help I got from y'all! If I had been following what his vet said he would still be getting insulin twice a day or worst.... Dead! I had to get kona's monthly heart worm preventative on Thursday so I told them everything about skittles so they could update his chart and they are not happy that he isn't getting his insulin. I need to update his SS, I test him about every other day now. I also need to update my siggy. Oh, he is down to 12 pounds. Got his brother down to 17 pounds ( from the 19 he was )

Thank you! I named him that because he was skittish when I first got him, little did I know that he would turn out to be a freak for candy!No matter where I put hard candy,he will figure it out and get it but he just play w it not eat it
 
Dental is just something Skittles has got to get through..and he's going to be ever so much better in the long run. I don't regret for a moment that I had Dottie's teeth removed. She's now our darling little Gummy Bear..and her coat is shiny, her breath normal, and her eyes bright. Unless you watch closely, the only giveaway that she's toothless is that her little pink tongue has started to leak out of her mouth now and then. Soon I will post a new avatar pic of her, in all her splendid new glory. She looks five years younger in the way she carries herself. You'll be very pleased with Skittles once his mouth is cleaned out and healed. Just make sure you can confine him for at least several hours, so he doesn't try to climb up on something...especially if the vet cuts his claws way back. Dottie's always made heavy use of her claws when climbing, and she hurt herself badly years ago, when she got away from me and climbed to the back of a chair, then slipped and fell onto hard tile flooring.

Heh...vets don't like to be proved wrong. :rolleyes: I haven't told my vet about Dottie being OTJ yet, because I want to see the look on his face when I tell him..her numbers are beautiful! I will test once a day forever, so I can jump on any relapses before she gets out of condition. Cats are so darn good at hiding stuff...o_O I know you will watch your baby carefully, too, Sherrie :woot:
 
I'm so looking forward to the day I can get his teeth cleaned, just cost so much and suddenly being a divorced mom is so hard financially.
If I ever have extra money, I will sponsor someone else's fur baby to help them out because I know how hopeless it feels to need medical attention for a furbaby and can't get it. It's going to be very difficult if he relapses with me TRYING to work part time to get caught up on past due bills , pay the bills I have and raise my human babies. So hard starting over, especially at my age.
