Hi all,

I know that many here don't visit Feline Health much but at the moment there's a kitty, OJ, who really needs help:

Potted Hx:

* Has a really bad tooth that is causing much pain and needs extraction.
* Recently diagnosed as diabetic when vets ran pre-dental labs.
* DKA at diagnosis - successfully treated.
* Had another ketone surge last week - managed successfully (cleared quickly, no DKA relapse).
* Numbers very high most of the time, very likely influenced by pain/inflammation in tooth.
* OJ is going to vets again today to have another surge of ketones flushed out and more pain meds.
* OJ is on Lantus.

Luxe, OJ's person, is caught in an awful catch-22: the vets she's contacted thus far won't consider doing the dental while OJ's unregulated, and the bad tooth is elevating BG and contributing to ketone production.

If any of you have relevant experience and can suggest anything about where Luxe should look to get help with the dental work - specialists, etc. - please can you reply to the following thread:

Thank you.
