It has been many moons since I've done a condo. Not sure I remember how...:p Strange to not be starting with a link to the last one and the previous days' numbers. :(

I want to send my best wishes and many healing vines and good thoughts to Lyresa and her civvie, Spike. Praying for an Easter miracle. Thank you to all who have responded to the condo I did on her behalf. She needs your continued support, and I knew you wouldn't let her down! What a wonderful family we have here! :bighug:

You many be wondering why I still call this Tricia's House of Chaos. Well, that's what it is. We started a remodelling project a couple of months ago, and....still going! We are replacing all the flooring in the house - wood except the bathrooms and laundry room. Since we have to clear out the rooms to do that, we decided to paint the entire interior. We are also redoing the fireplace in our family room and adding some built-ins to the guest bedroom. Those of you that have been here a while may recall the pictures from last summer, when I was redoing my pantry and I got into a one-upsmanship contest with Rhiannon - we have a LOT of stuff! We have to do this a couple of rooms at a time, as we have to put that stuff somewhere. Packing up each room is a much bigger job than I anticipated, and coordinating with the General Contractor, the painter, and the flooring installer has been problematic, as well. So far all the painting is done and flooring is down on the first floor, with just some baseboards and trim still to be installed. We are working at bringing stuff back from storage on the first floor and emptying the guest room and DH's office on the second floor. In the midst of all this fun, we had the in-laws here last weekend and are expecting my DS this coming Friday, for our annual wine tasting weekend!

To further complicate matters, we decided to purchase a trailer to take to the races. We saw it on a Sunday, made the decision that night, and then DH left Monday morning to go hunting with his father. I spent the next three days getting the money together, purchasing generators and accessories, and packing for the trip, with a houseful of workmen! DH got home late Wednesday night and we got up early Thursday, picked up the trailer and headed to Phoenix! Talk about a whirlwind! When we got home, we had no place to put it, of course. It barely fit in front of our house for unloading. I located a spot in an RV storage lot a couple miles away (last one in the vicinity, apparently), and in the pouring rain we took it over there and parked it - two novice RVers on their own! Somehow, all survived.

So the work resumes this coming week, and wouldn't you know it, DH is leaving Wednesday for another hunting trip!

Once all the remodeling is done, we will be ready to welcome some furry feet to the establishment. I really can't wait. I cannot believe it has been almost six months since Harvey crossed. :( Except for the first year of our marriage, we have never been without cats in the house before. Rest assured I will share the news with you all when the happy day arrives.

So now you know why I haven't been around a lot lately. Our WiFi will be down for several days soon, as the server, router, etc. in Mark's office will have to be removed for painting. I'll try to keep in touch on my phone and tablet as much as I can. Just know that my L&L Land family is always in my thoughts and prayers.

I wish you all a happy Easter and joyous Passover. I am sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Happy Easter Tricia

LOL I remember that.
Hoarder's anonymous.:p

You certainly have your hands full at the moment, I can relate to all the upheaval keep your eye on the prize, just think how lovely it will be when it's all done, and you can sit down relax and enjoy your new babies. Can't wait to see the pics.
:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Happy Easter! We must see pics when it is all done. It sounds fabulous.

It's also hard for me to believe you've gone six months without a kitty but you are wise to do it the way you are. Thos will be some lucky kittens when they get there...and I know you won't get just one!!

Many hugs!

Trust me, it hasn't been easy. Two of our closest friends have kittens they are caring for (one has a feral colony and the other, our contractor, takes in any strays that get dumped near his home) and are constantly trying to get us to take some. It's very hard to say no, but this isn't the way we want to do it - I want to be able to concentrate on the kitties and not worry about workmen letting them out, etc. Patience was never one of my virtues, but......

First Tricia, THANK YOU so much for starting that support thread - it's so appreciated and so are all the hugs, thoughts and prayers. It's helping me keep my sanity.

What a house of chaos it still is! I can't wait to see your completed pictures. You'll truly enjoy having the trailer - it makes such a difference not only for the races but just a short 'get away' somewhere.

HUGS!!!

(((Tricia))) lovely to see a THoC condo and my goodness, you have been keeping busy these last few months. I hope you will be very happy with the results when everything is finally finished.

Can't wait to see photos of your new furbabies when they arrive, a home without a cat (or two) is just a house.

Lyresa, you are most welcome. My heart was just totally shattered when I read your initial post on FB. It reminded me so much of what happened to my sister's beautiful Short Cat. I wanted to do something to help. I am praying very hard for Spike and watching for updates.

We already love the trailer, and DH has dived in. He is constantly online looking for accessories and other things we "have to" have! I keep reminding him the remodel is the more immediate issue.

What a terrific condo!
You home will be magnificent...once it's all done that is. Meanwhile you sound too busy to be much bothered by the chaos.

Did you say "some" furry feet? Somehow that sounds like more than one fur. Are you contemplating a cat AND a dawg. :p

No droolers for me. I don't want to clean up their poo and DH will say he will but won't. I prefer to have cats and just enjoy other people's dogs.

We will get two cats - we always have them in pairs, at least.

Ahahaha! I had a cat who drooled, when in the middle of his purring feasts. Only one ever.
Yes, to two cats - much better for them.

Wow Tricia....I'm tired just reading everything you have going on at THoC!!

I'm sure the house will turn out wonderful.....but I also remember last years contest so I know how much you're having to move around too! What a job that has to be!!

As for Mark being gone on a hunting trip.....well.....guess that means you're the one that has to make any "final decisions" on decorating, doesn't it? "Oh...you wanted blue? Well, you weren't available for consult and I liked this pink! " ;)

I know that when the time is right, the right kitties will come into your life.....that's how most of them end up with us, isn't it? "Something" comes up, or "something" happens and all the sudden there's more furry souls in the house. Can't wait for your announcement of what lucky kitties will be yours!!

Are you still thinking about a Maine Coon?

Have fun with the trailer....I'm sure it's a lot easier on you guys to take your home with you instead of trying to find someplace to stay at the racetrack! And hopefully whoever joins your household later on will enjoy riding in it too!!

Are you still thinking about a Maine Coon?

We decided against them, due to the diseases and conditions they are more susceptible to. Not saying never - down the road I'm thinking a rescue Main Coon would be a great addition, but right now we want healthy kittens - we are a bit burned out still from the past few years. We are getting Siberians again.

hopefully whoever joins your household later on will enjoy riding in it too!!
That's the plan. No need for a pet sitter when your kitties travel with you!

Hi Tricia. Happy Easter to you and Mark.
Have fun with the house renovations!
Siberians are beautiful cats! Not very common out here in Aus.

Happy Easter, Bron (Although it's Monday there now, isn't it?).

Yes, Siberians are beautiful. They aren't that common here, either. They had never seen one at UCDavis when I took Minka in the first time - didn't have it on their list of breeds in the computer, so she was labeled "medium hair domestic". Grrr!

Happy (sort of belated) Easter, Tricia!:) I hate doing renos in the place I'm living, but love the finished product so...hopefully it will all go quickly and smoothly from here on out! It sounds like it will be lovely. I have too much "stuff" too. I try to clean it all out regularly as I hate clutter but I'm sure there is a lot that "could" go:p. I hope you enjoy your trailer. If you have to camp, it's the way to go to bring it all with you! Can you tell I'm not a fan of being a tent camper? LOL. I'm an indoor/motel sort of girl.

I'm VERY excited to hear of two furbabies (or more!) in the future! It has to be so hard waiting. But best to wait for the workmen to be gone to prevent littles from escaping, and chaos to go down, before it goes up for a different reason:cat::cat:

Hugs to you!!!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I don't like to camp either, Rachel. That's why it had to be a nice trailer with a full bathroom! It's a used one, but was taken really good care of by its one previous owner.

It's very hard to wait for kitties, but it's for the best, so I just keep telling myself it's something to look forward to!
