Hi L&LL,
I know that some of you were interested in how our new civvie Gus (10 years old) did with his dental yesterday. His teeth were cleaned and the tarter removed. NO EXTRACTIONS! His vet also removed a small cyst from the side of his neck. The vet at the shelter had aspirated it last fall and the lab found nothing worrisome. But our vet thought that it was prudent to remove it when it was small and non-problematic. She, too, did not find anything remarkable. So he has a few stitches that will be taken out in 2 weeks. He was ravenous when he got home yesterday and bouncing around. Today he was fine. He wanted to go out in the snow, but we will not let him out until after his stitches are removed. The surgery site looks good: nice and clean.

Wishing all a good weekend. Thanks for the dental vines!

Ella, that is good news that Gus came through the cleaning with flying colors and all teeth in tack! You were lucky that they did the cyst at the same time. Each practice I have gone to would not preform another procedure with the dental, no "clean" procedure at the same time as a "dirty" procedure.
