Re: OT - ADW Arkray Glucocard 01 Sensor no longer available?
I just switched to the Arkray Vital from the Relion Confirm (using the Glucoard 01 Sensory strips). I switched because the cost of the Vital strips is so much cheaper ($46 for five boxes of the Vital versus $70 for the other). I LOVE the Vital meter. You'll probably never notice that it needs a bit more blood because our cats ears bleed so easily for us since we've been at this for a while. The good thing about the Vital meter (though it took a bit for me to get used to it) is that it doesn't beep when you put a strip in and it doesn't beep when you get enough blood on the strip and it starts its countdown. You need to keep an eye on the meter as you're touching the strip to the drop of blood so you make sure you get enough. As soon as the meter starts its countdown, you know you're good to go. Not having the meter beep in the cat's ear is a good thing for those jumpy cats out there. I did accuracy checks between the Vital and the Relion Confirm, checking the same drop of blood with both meters, to see how they compare. I did this for three days. They are EXACTLY right on in the low numbers, a couple points off between 100-200, and about 10-20 points off at 200 and above. The Vital certainly passed my test!!
