Hello! It's been another week since I tested Pepe (my foster rescue) and after 4 hours of a 3 oz. can of Fancy Feast classic, he is at 124. All week he's been in the teens to 128 as highest.

I just received my bottle of Lantus in the mail today from Marks Marine. Right now, he doesn't need insulin.

Should I wait and give it another week to see the numbers? If I don't need the insulin, I would like to sell it to someone who can use it, seeing I may not for a while. Could I do that here if necessary? I wish I could donate it, but not in a financial position to do that right now...

Thank you!

I would test twice daily for the next week. That's what we do when we're doing an "OTJ trial" (off the juice trial). If he can maintain his numbers for another week, below 120, then he is officially OTJ! Or in his case, never-on-the-juice! At that point he will be considered a diet-controlled diabetic, and you can sell your Lantus on the Supply Closet or on Craigslist. :)

Totally agree, my mush on insulin in may 2015 and off in 9/15, because of the
Feline Diabetes Message Board!! Diabetes can be controlled by diet. Vet was
no help!!! So glad to hear the great news!!
