Either my friend has a pretty crappy morning average reading on the Alphatrak 2, or the best morning reading to date on the relion!
Not sure if I should be sad or happy :? I know a lot of people don't log two sets of numbers, but I have always thought that more information was better than less information.
Obie is as hungry as he as always been and as loving and playful as normal.
Still at 1.25u I am going to keep him here for a bit longer to see if I can get him to hang out in the yellow for longer amounts of time and then I'm going for the blue!
May today be a good day for my Kitty and all of yours!

I was gone most of the day and was only able to test him in the 9th hour with the Alpha trak.
At 9 hours in he was at 230. 12 hours in he was at 439. Me thinks his body is being a bit jerky!

Looks like it, but every number adds a piece to the puzzle. I hope the picture becomes clearer and clearer!

Thank you,atajev!
His body spiked at the 10 hour mark I'm sure! I think that is when the Insulin dose peters out.
It's hard for me to believe , with his numbers, that he is going dangerously low. I've never busted him below 131 since I've been testing him.
I am going to try to get a read on him about 9pm before bedtime.

I've been away from the board more often than not for the last 3 weeks, so I've missed Obie's back story. What other health issues does he have? How old is he? Was he just diagnosed in July? Which ReliOn do you use? I use the Confirm because it only needs .3ml of blood per test. Sorry for all the questions!

I sure hope you and Obie start seeing more of those lower numbers! Keep up the good work!

From an earlier post "Let me describe Obie
Obie is 12 yrs old, at his heaviest he weighed 23.25 lbs and at his recent lightest he weighed 15.69lbs and might be a pound heavier now.
he is a big framed cat (About 20-22" long). He was a rescue kitten. He was a spare test kitten that we adopted. He is strong and always hungry.
Before he was diagnosed he was pissing rivers and drinking tons of water for quite a while. I think He has been a diabetic for a very very long time.
His body is used to unhealthy highs. Obie ate tons of dry food, not the cheap store bought stuff but the diet food you get from the vet.
Turns out, all that stuff was high in carbohydrates..Grrr!! Dry food has been totally eliminated from his diet now."
He was diagnosed about July 18th and I have a Relion Confirm. I use the Alpha Trak 2 also.
He has no other health problems. He eats like a pig,is always hungry. He has been puking clear every so often, but only small amounts. I hear that is sometimes caused from the sugar dropping too fast. But I don't know. He is a pretty strong and sturdy cat.

8:30 reading (2 and a 1/2 hours after meal and shot ) was 441Relion and 495 Alphatrak. Jeepers!
