Nuzzled PMPS=153 +2=173 Really?

Nuzzles was the hit of the life celebration barbecue. She touched the hearts of all the attendees and then got this PMPS. I was in denial so I retested her and got a 173. I don't know what to make of this HI girl. When she is free-roaming her food is hidden so my other cats can't get to it. Since most of my friends and family are cat people, they all held her and nuzzled her and boom... down goes her bg.

I don't know what to make of this. She is on 1.74u

Not sure what you meant here. Did she get food after her PMPS test/shot? That would bring her BG up a little by +2

It's possible that he's finally had a "breakthrough" and that's why the 153 at PMPS ...which would be good news...anything under that HI is progress! The thing that would concern me at this point is if he IS coming down that fast, he might continue down over tonight's cycle.

It's also really possible that Nuzzles is going way low during the cycle, and "bouncing" back up at PS times. Without testing in between your AM and PM times, it's hard for us to tell if that might be why she's staying so high. It would really help if you could get some tests in during the cycles...somewhere between +4 and +8 during the day, and before you go to bed at night.

Until we have more data to look at, we can't really advise you on what might be happening....but congrats on getting a blue number!! They are pretty aren't they?

Nuzzles is back on HI at every test - even random in-between tests. The only time she does not have food is when she is allowed to roam the house. I have to put her food up so that my other cats don't get it.

I would ask on the lantus board but at this point you might want to be more aggressive with increases... Ie 0.5.

I have her up to 2u now. She gave me a 251 this morning. Wish I was home to test her mid-cycle.

Can you do something like this by adjusting the shot time?

Yeah - I did a +6 and she was back up to HI - weird

Could be a bounce. By now the liver probably thinks HI is normal. Wonder how low she goes at night?
