Nutro DMB to % Calorie Analysis and Phosphorus Content

Hi,

I contacted Nutro to get information on their grain free canned food. I only have the pate and chunky (pate + few chunks of meat) because my cats don't eat the minced and sliced textures. I don't have the numbers for the scramble variety because it includes veggie.

I asked for DMB so I used Dr. Pierson's formula to convert the DMB numbers to % calorie. Dr. Pierson's food chart numbers are based on TNA but her site said "If they do not have ME values, at least obtain dry matter values and you can calculate the ME yourself using the math (formula) tutorial above."

I have been using Nutro for a while now. Sadly, the Salmon and Duck and the Turkey are no longer available (although I think you can still get the turkey in the Perfect Portions). They were Squallie's faves when he first started eating Nutro. Anyway - he is very carb-sensitive, and he has never had a BG spike eating the Nutro pates. He also eats the Nutro Breakfast Scrambles. :cat:
 
For some reason, two of my cats don’t like the pate and chunky turkey at all. I have been using the duck and chicken only and they really like both of them. Good quality low carb food! But now I have to look for new food with lower phosphorus content for Coby. Not looking forward to the process :nailbiting:.

Are the breakfast scrambles minced or pate?

They're minced. Squallie really loves them, but right now he's having trouble with them because of the texture with his bad teeth.:(

All of them are a bit higher in phosphorus than I would like to see, ultimately.

Phosphorus is indeed a bit too high, sigh.
