nutritional supplement query--fussy cancer kitty

harry has lung cancer. so far his appetite is great but he's mostly hankering for chicken baby food. i don't know how much time he has, but now he's up to 200 calories a day of gerber's chicken baby food (ground chicken, water, cornstarch). i think it's about 8% carb (maybe 6%) so i'm not worried about carbs but i think we're getting to the point that i have to supplement this for a cat's nutritional needs. he is eating some evo dry, for some kitty nutrition.

i'm really afraid to scare him off of baby food because it is his major go-to food. he needs to keep his strength up for cancer and chemo. do you think it would be okay to make a slurry of the stuff he probably needs (taurine, portion of adult multivitamin, eggshell) and give it to him via oral syringe instead of mixing into the baby food? i'd have to figure exact proportions based on what else he's eating but i know we really should supplement if he's getting more than 15% of his diet from non cat food. i'm afraid that if i put it in the baby food he won't eat it any more and we'll be screwed.

THE '~LIVER SHAKE~' FOR SICK CATS

This liquid food is appropriate for cats suffering from conditions where they are eating very little or not at all such as anemias, leukemias, deficiency states with symptoms of lethargy, listlessness, and weakness.

1 cup RAW LIVER (BEEF, or CHICKEN)
1 cup FRESH CARROT JUICE or V-8, or Tomatoe Juice
1/4 cup *FRESH FILTERED WATER
1 RAW EGG YOLK
1 tsp.KELP POWDER OR SPIRULINA


COMBINE AND MIX IN A BLENDER UNTIL LIQUEFIED. (Note: it will be frothy)

Dosage:

Administer 10cc daily 3-6 times a day. (6Occ per day max)

Some cats will need to be force-fed with an oral syringe, while others will drink it out of a bowl.

adult multivitamin? as in human multivit? is that safe for cats?

this may just be me, but i'm wary about feeding raw liver (or any raw meats for that matter) to immunocompromised kitties on chemo.

eta - oops i forgot harry isn't getting chemo (i think). but if he's on pred, i'd still be wary; it is immunosuppressive.
 
Canned kitten food will be higher fat content, and thus higher calorie. Many on Binky's page are low carb too, as they've used fat instead of carbs in the blend. Most of the pates can be mushed into a syringeable format if needed, or you might mix with the baby food.
 
i can't mix with baby food. mixing has never worked for him and if i do it he may never eat baby food again; hence, my question.
he's on pred but i'm tapering it off. should be off it in two weeks. he's on chemo. carboplatin right now, every 3 weeks, then probably palladia if we don't see results.
yes, multivitamin is okay. it's a small chip off the tablet--part of that strombeck diet his internal med guy recommended (no grain in this one -- it's cooked chicken plus supplements). can't feed raw -- he won't eat it. horrible how fussy he is. he does like parmesan cheese, rotisserie chicken skin, and temptations, but best bet always is chicken baby food.
i was thinking of saving liver shake for last gasp kinda thing but hadn't thought of probs with raw liver. good point. have to investigate that...
