Hi, I’m looking into the best cat foods for my diabetic cat, as we all know fancy feast pates are great for low carb content. I’m trying to compare them to other foods. Is the “as fed” number on the nutritional info the one you all go by? Also, I’m looking for low phosphorus foods to minimise the risk of CKD. What would be some foods that tick boxes for low carb AND low phosphorus. I read that some of the low carb fancy feasts are not that low in phosphorus. Somebody also mentioned Weruva is a good brand for this.

I know of no connection of phosphorus content and developing CKD. Once you CKD the kidneys can't remove toxins like phosphorous as well and one should do something to diet like low phosphorus food or binder.
