Number rising after injection?

Question about ProZinc:

Chester has been on ProZinc for about four days now after switching from Vetsulin. He’s currently on 1 unit twice a day. I’ve tested his blood sugar each time at injection, and it’s been right around 270 for the past couple days. I also feed him a can of wet food at injection time. Tonight I noticed that his blood sugar an hour after eating/injection had actually risen to 371. Is this at all normal?

Yes, even when everything is working right, it can take a few hours for the BG level to start to drop. Also, there can be a brief rise from the food.
