Yay we are at 123 this morning and I had left grilled food out last night. Normally he would have been close to 400 with that. They are both eating like piglets this morning. So happy they have converted to wet finally.

Hi Tammie,
Nice amps!
looking good, but an fyi
I would stay away from the grilled right now
It is high carb (I think around 18%)
and if his pancrease is working I think I would stick to the 6% carbs or lower right now(the classic)
try to keep him in non diabetic numers the best you can so you can get him OTJ

Yeah I think I panicked a little last night because he was so low and I was afraid to go to sleep.

I'm out of high carb now and have a box of all 3% that they have been getting all week.

Great news!
I agree with Denise in keeping the carbs low. We certainly don't want his pancreas to work harder than it has to.

Very happy about this update!!! dancing_cat

Tamiie,
Dont worry about him going to low if he does not have insulin
They can not hypo without insulin so you do not need to worry about that
Are you going to feed and retest this moring to see if he goes down again?

Yeah he ate about half an hour ago. I'm going to get ready for work then I'll test him real quick before I leave in about half an hour.

ok I have to leave but will check in once I get to work to see that number!
Everything is still crossed for you!

WOOT! An hour after eating an no am insulin he's at 106.

Leaving low carb for him and giving him half dose of albuterol again. He's not wheezing but he started to last night until I gave him some.

Heading to the nuthouse again. (no not the vet)

Gabatchalater!

WONDERFUL! dancing_cat

Just Remember, once a diabetic always a diabetic! The only difference is-- some need insulin and some can be controlled with diet. You need to continue to feed the Low Carb food. And, like Denise said, don't worry about going hypo--Nudderbaby cannot go hypo if he is not on insulin!

That's a great number and an amazing run. At least you know that it's still working in there..it's just going to need some help to chug along.

Much better than with the dry carb + insulin, but still diabetic numbers. Pick your day, when you will be home, and we can help you with a minindose.

Do you have 100U needles? You may need them eventually, if you have to lower the doses more.

I wont be off until Saturday and we have an appointment with the new vet at 11 am that day.

His morning number from Sunday was close to this. Are you thinking we should start with .4? I do have the u100 syringes.

Since you are using the u100 syringes, .4 is better because it will line up better with the lines on the syringe. Great numbers!

Carl

Good choice. You do need to monitor him tonight. We just don't know what his pancreas will do with the insulin. Hopefully it will be a nice mild drop.

Looks great! Guess Nudderbaby will be in the OTJ club soon! That is just awesome!! Keep up the good work!
