so my regular store is closed today ,had to buy a differnt cat litter, "the Best Cat Litter in the World"...and Buddy started to eat it.
i look at the ingredients , it's ALL CORN ! Now that his BG's are leveling off on new, lower dose, i have to worry his litter will raise them! guess it's true a mother's work is never done!

Hahaha! Yes, was that World's Best cat Litter? It's nice stuff, but I had to quit using it because Gandalf got horrible dust all over his feet from it and I was afraid he would lick it off and affect his BGs! I also used some pea pod stuff once and I swear he was eating it or licking it off because his numbers were wonky when I used it.

It never ends. Good catch about the corn. I quit using it too, although I loved how light it is, it is horribly dusty though they claim it's not.

Hi Marci...

Dr. Lisa has a good bit of information on her cat litter page regarding WBCL:

http://www.catinfo.org/?link=litterbox# ... Cat_Litter

I like Dr. Elseys clumping litter which she also recommends over WBCL.

BTW Marci, can you set up a profile for yourself and Buddy? It helps for people to see your history especially for those that have not been following along so far. Here is the link that explains how to do it and what information is helpful:

I have also been on the quest for the "world's best cat litter" and have decided for us it's Dr. Elsey's, either multi-cat or regular variety. It is the most dustless I have found and does a decent job of clumping quickly, although not quick enough for Gandalf's big feet. He still sticks his paw in it occasionally and I have to stick his paw under a running faucet to get the litter out.

I wish there was something as light as WBCL though, just moving the litter around the box when scooping is difficult sometimes. I found a very good scoop with triangular shaped slots which let the litter fall through easier.

Actually i bought WBCL for the first time because they were out of the usual one, Feline Pine, which we have been very happy with. I read Dr. Lisa's review of it but i do not find it has a strong pine oder at all, and since it does not produce dust i will stick with it.

Yes, if you have a profile from the old board that would certainly be the easiest way of course. I went there to see if I could copy/paste it here for you but couldn't find a post from you. Were you posting under marcinewyork? If so, there isn't a profile under that name. I also saw there is a Marci and Buddy listed as a member but couldn't find a post under that name - was only looking in the Vetsulin ISG though.

You could PM Rebecca and ask her for your old password. I wonder how many people can't get into that board anymore because of not remembering their password. That would be too bad since there is a lot of valuable information stored there, plus the old board is quoted often here. Also I would imagine new people can't see posts from there either. :(

Odd that I am able to use the same password for both boards.

Does this board have a profile function? Didn't most of us just copy our old one from the original board and put it in a Google doc? That's what I did.

One of us can probably scrounge up the template on which you can create your profile, then transfer to a Google doc for storage/linkability.

Pamela, do have that link still?? I don't as it's on a now defunct laptop.

Ok, I'm busted  don't know how to copy/paste,even if i could find my old profile.

LOL, on Windows, highlight what you want to copy (either by "select all" or press and hold your mouse button while dragging over what you want to copy, then it's Control C, meaning you hold down "control" key and press the C key. That copies your selection to the "clipboard."

To paste, you go where you want to put your selection and press Control V.

Wallah! Your selection is now placed in its new home. :-D

If you're on a Mac it's Command C/ Command V.

yes. she said she no longer has anyones password on file.
she said most people saved their info but i was offthis site for a few months when that notice was put out. not sure what to do now-what do you think?

I take this: "Personal data (PMs and Profiles included) are NOT accessible from the old board anymore. All password access has been inactivated and cannot be reactivated. _Rebecca"

to mean that no one can access their original board profile now anyway.

I say just start from scratch. Write up something in Google Docs, maybe use my profile as a template - read it and see what questions were answered and answer those for Buddy.

Where did you see that she said that Vicky? I can't find it. Because if you click on the icon next the pm button below my name, and on yours, it takes you directly to our profiles from the old FDMB board. I am confused. confused_cat Also I can still access the old board with my password. In a hurry right now - maybe I will PM Venita and ask her later too.

Hi Marci,
I found this under tech support.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17766

Hope it helps.

I found Rebecca's comment at the above link.

That is weird then! 'Cause that is exactly how I understand her note - old profiles should not be accessible, but I guess she means if you go to the old board and try to do it from there.

That has to be a new addition though, as I thought I had mine set up to take you to the Google doc in which I copied my profile.

Oh, it still is.

go to google docs where the SS is ?is there a place for me to write a profile there?

Yes, you just start a new document - click "file" toward the top and select "new" then "document" which allows you to use it like a word processor program. You won't loose your spreadsheet as you are starting a whole new document which will have to be named and saved on its own.

Then you publish it just like you did for the spreadsheet to get the link to put in your signature, if that's where you'd like to put it. I put the link for mine as the "website" on the "edit profile" page in the user control panel. So it becomes clickable at the little Earth symbol below Gandalf's picture with my posts.

ok done, i think, not sure if its linked to my sig, as my friend had helped me do that initially, may have to wait for her help agin with that-unless its there now-do you see it?

No, it's not there. Did you get the document published? That's a bit tricky. I think the tutorial on how to do that is here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18207

Section B. "Publishing your SS, aka Attaching to signature" has what you need.

Then copy the link as the directions show and come back to FDMB. Select "user control panel" from just below the board logo near the top of the page. Select the tab which says "profile" and paste the link in to the box for "website."

Then find a post you made and look below Buddy's picture. There should be a little Earth symbol below the picture and next the the PM icon - click on it and there will be your profile via the Google document!

is Buddys picture there?

Oh dear, my bad. No, I'm speaking about the avatar to the right or left of the messages. You don't have a picture of Buddy up yet!

It's very easy to put one up. In User Control Panel, Profile, select Edit avatar. Then you can upload a picture from your computer as long as it's small enough. I think there are websites where you can reduce a picture if you don't have that capability on your computer.

I don't think anyone on this ISG cares, but there is a Tech Support forum that has walkthroughs for most of this stuff, as we're getting very off topic.
