Hello and welcome.while I cannot comment on what the difference in dosing would be between Novolin and Prozinc I can say that Zobaline seems to help with neuropathy. You can buy it direct from ilifelink.com. Worth a try....
I will look into the spreadsheet! I am pleasantly surprised at his glucose levels so far. He is staying around mid 200's to mid 300s. I am seeing my vet again this week and will have to increase his dose. Considering he was getting 24+ units of novolin every 24hrs and he was around 250 with high spikes here and there, I am very impressed with prozinc. He is only getting 4 units a day and he isn't spiking like he used to on novolin! I do realize that U-40 is a lot more per unit. 2 units of it equals about 6 units of U-100. But it's working well so far. I'm not going to get too excited cuz it's still early. Thanks for ur insight. I need to spend some time and get his ketones tested, the acro blood test done, the spreadsheet, etc etc. I dont have a lot of money or free time right now, but my boy is very important to me so I am going to figure something out! Thanks so much. I think that's what other people suggested for neuropathy, unless there is another one that works well... I will look for the other post, but pretty sure that's what they said cured 99 percent of their cats neuropathy.
Hello, my boy smokey is also on his haunches. He used to have horrible diarrhea and would mess all over himself as well. I started giving him a half pill of imodium (1mg) every 3 days or so. No more diarrhea all over him. If he has normal poop then I wouldn't suggest doing this. If its soft, try a smaller dose of imodium to make things less messy. Also keep the litter level high in the box. Too low and the urine will "pool" more and be more likely to get on ur cat. These changes have made a HUGE difference for my cat who is in the same boat as ur kittie. If u can, talk to a vet about the imodium dosing, but it's very safe in cats, it can cause some excitability when first starting his regime, but it's very minimal if at all. And tanner is probably just tired of u cleaning him all the time. Might be telling u to back off! But could be some pain also. The less stress for him the better. Please try what I have suggested, and givet the zobaline a try.
