Not sure what I’m doing RE: dosing

I would like some general advice on dosing as Reece and I move forward. It looks like she is responding well to insulin as her numbers have been coming down since starting treatment. I’m not sure what dose to stick with right now, though. I’ve been basing her doses lately on her PS number, combined with whether or not I’ll be home to monitor her. Is it ok to vary the dose between .5u and .75u? .6 is right at 1.5 on my u100 syringe, .8 is right at the 2 - making dosing a little more exact, but I’m just not sure really how much I should be giving her.

Thanks!

First, it'll be easier if you stick to one kind of syringe for dosing. The U100s are very versatile so I'd go with those. Try 0.6 u for now and give that same dose AM and PM. Too frequent dose changes make it hard to see what her true response is. Make a point of getting a test in the +4 to +6 range daily if you can because the dose is judged best by how low it drops the BG and less on the PSs.
