Not sure how to interpret today's curve

I am doing Bo's first curve since he went back on Lantus but I have rising numbers instead of falling numbers after the shot. I am not sure what is going on. I was wondering if someone would look at Bo's SS and the curve that we have so far today. links are in my signature. Any suggestions on what is happening and what I need to do?

We started back on insulin on 10/18/14 one unit once a day then began on 10/29/14 one unit twice a day.
 
A food spike commonly happens about 2 hours or so after the test, feed, and shoot. Then it should gradually begin to go down.

Except:
Whenever you change a dose, you may get New Dose Wonkiness. That is when a change in dose results in some rather erratic numbers. These tend to settle out over a day or so.
Also, if the cat is bouncing. A bounce happens when either the glucose has dropped quickly or it has gone to a level that is unfamiliar for the cat. Compensatory hormones are triggered which release stored glucose (glycogen). It can take up to 3 days for this to settle down.

Understanding the spreadsheet/grid:

The colored headings at the top are the ranges of glucose values. They are color-coded to clue you in as to meaning.

Each day is 1 row. Each column stores different data for the day.

From left to right, you enter
the Date in the first column
the AMPS (morning pre-shot test) in the 2nd column
the Units given (turquoise column)

Then, there are 11 columns labeled +1 through +11
If you test at +5 (5 hours after the shot), you enter the test number in the +5 column
If you test at +7 (7 hours after the shot), you enter the test number in the +7 column
and so on.

Halfway across the page is the column for PMPS (evening pre-shot)
To the right is another turquoise column for Units given at the evening shot.

There is second set of columns labeled +1 through +11
If you snag a before bed test at +3, you enter the test number in the +3 column.

We separate day and night numbers like that because many cats go lower at night.

It is merely a grid for storing the info; no math required.
 
That could be possible. Good point. I leave food out all the time for my cats. I have four. They are given one 12 oz can of food twice a day. Nobody eats much at one time so they graze. I know Bo ate after I gave the shot this morning. I am not sure when he ate again. I need to make a note of that when I do a curve. They eat during the night too.

Maybe I need to take up the food when I am doing a curve.

Sometimes I take three readings in a row during mid-cycle, just before a mealtime, then at 1 hour and 2 hours after food to see how the food affects Saoirse's BG. That's what prompted me to ask about mealtimes. Sometimes a meal can bump Saoirse's numbers like that. I've only got limited experience of being a sugar kitty parent so there may be other reasons for bumps in the curve that I don't know about.
 
Good idea. I will try that whenever I can. With free feeding it is going to be tough knowing when he eats especially during the night.
Hope I can get this figured out with him free feeding. Didn't have this issue four years ago since all the food was gone shortly after i put it down.
